This wasn't for me. I don't see myself reading the previous series to catch up on who all the other secondary characters are from Halle and there were quite a bit. I imagine further books in this series to be more of the same. Lots of names and faces and backstory that I feel lost in. This is definitely not a standalone book. If the blurb sounds interesting to you then I'd recommend you read the previous series Puma Shifters to get a feel for the characters and the town of Halle or you'll be swimming in a sea of confusion. Or at least I was feeling that. I was a shocked at the reason for Tabby's outcasting. Her family, her boyfriend, her pack all refused to stand up for her when they knew she wasn't guilty of the crime, and she was only fifteen??! That was pretty harsh. Her parents couldn't be bothered to pull up stakes and leave with her? Pretty hardcore to abandon your child to basically become a chew toy for any wolf pack she happened to come across.Bunny and Tabby had a nice chemistry and they had the insta-mate bond which gives them okay to hop into bed pretty much five minutes after meeting. Sometimes that works for me and this was okay because they were likeable characters but not overly compelling for me. There's also a lot of sequel bait here so if the concept and characters work for you there will be lots of stories still to tell.
