To be honest, this isn't my favorite series by Ashley but I went in with an open mind because this one sounded pretty interesting. It just didn't do it for me though. There were some nice cameos from a couple of characters from a previous book and also a set up for more books in the series but I think I may pass on them. I just can't get into Ashley's paranormal work. I liked Jack more than I liked Belle, maybe because it took her a while to come into her own and leading up to that moment she came across as much younger than 35 yo. I'm just not a fan of this ingenue type character. The main thing that threw me though was Belle losing the baby at 4 months. Totally unexpected and hugely brutal move there and then learning who was responsible...it's hard to come back from that even when there is a paranormalesque reason for it.All in all, it was an interesting story with likeable characters. If you're a fan of KA's paranormal work you'll enjoy it. I'd definitely say if you're new to her work this is not a book or a series to start off with.
