I actually spent most of this book actively disliking Eva, right up until the "big misunderstanding" is explained. I think I only stuck with the book because it was short and I was curious how things would turn out and I really liked Alexei. It seemed like the reveal to the reader too a bit too long. Alexei still doesn't get it until quite a bit down the road but I, as the reader, would have preferred it earlier. I just have a hard time reading about characters I can't respect and while I understand it's part of the plot, leaving the reveal for such a long time really affected how I saw Eva's character. That's totally on me though. The book is well written, really nice flow and good characters. The whole bit with the laundry I found pretty amusing. I think I would have liked it more if I could have been supporting Eva's choices earlier.
